I made this for my stoic husband.
I watched him cry.

I’m Manique. I’m from Hong Kong, living in Melbourne, raising a son who is growing faster than I can hold onto.

I wanted to capture what my husband couldn’t articulate — the quiet mornings he left before sunrise so we could stay home safe. The way he held our son for the first time. Things a photograph alone doesn’t explain.

So I built it into a story. I turned our real photographs into cinema-quality illustrations. I wrote the words he never said aloud.

When he read it, he cried — and that’s the rarest thing I’ve ever witnessed. That moment is why Story By exists. Because making someone you love feel truly seen — that is the greatest form of love. And every family deserves that.
